Volvo S60 offers several luxury features and crowns that with powerful engines. The base engine is a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a mild hybrid system. This engine feeds power to the front wheels or all wheels. With it, the compact sedan can sprint from a standstill to 60 mph in about 6.4 seconds. This is pretty quick for any situation a driver might be in. The B5 base engine comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
If you need something even faster with better acceleration, the T8 engine is available for most of the trim levels. This engine is a plug-in hybrid option that doesn’t have any lag during acceleration. Its bigger hybrid system and the supercharger allow it to feel power to all four wheels. With more power, this engine can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 4.4 seconds. Volvo also offers the Polestar Engineered performance based model. This has the same PHEV T8 engine, but with more power.
