For years now, we here at Volvo Marin have been awfully envious of our friends in Australia. Not because of the kangaroos, not because of Men at Work, but rather because it's been home to the Volvo V60 Polestar. Lucky for us, our favorite automaker has heard our plight and will soon be sending this beauty Stateside.
If this is your first time hearing of it, the Volvo V60 Polestar is a four-door wagon that's as sleek as it is capable. When next year's model arrives, it will boast a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine that delivers up to 350 horsepower and 369 lb.-ft. of torque when paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. Not for nothing, but it also comes with a Haldex all-wheel drive system and can go from zero to 62 in 4.9 seconds.
As for where all this power is coming from, all signs point to its overhauled exhaust system, intercooler and twin-scroll Borg Warner turbocharger. Needless to say, they pulled out all the stops with this one.
"We have continued our work to create a true driver's car which is . . . enjoyable on everything from your favorite winding roads to taking the family for a long journey, no matter summer or winter," says Robert Dahlgren, racing and test driver at Polestar. "And in my view, we have gotten very close to our goals, something that of course is best experienced first-hand behind the wheel."1
So if you'd like to see for yourself why we're so darn excited about it, the experts in our car parts department would be happy to fill you in at our dealership here in Madera, CA. After all, it does come with Australia's seal of approval.
