You may have hear a little bit about Volvo's new Drive-E engines already. They are smaller and more efficient, but still provide big power. In the video below, Volvo Senior Engineer, Anders Agfors, goes into detail about how these engines work and what's so great about them.
Like Agfors said, just because these engines are smaller and lighter, that doesn't meant that they are any less powerful. They may cut nearly 200lbs off the vehicle's weight and reduce its fuel consumption by 30%, they still manage to maintain 306hp. It doesn't lose any power, it just increases its eco-friendliness.
In 2016 you'll be able to get the Drive-E engine in any Volvo model you want. Here at Volvo Marin, we're counting down the days until we see these amazing engines in more vehicles.
