Whether it's coming up with a new household filing system, rearranging the living room, or even updating your wardrobe, we know that overhauls can be long and tedious processes. But they can also be exciting too! For the past couple years Volvo has been hard at work redoing their entire engine line up, which is no easy task.

In case you aren't into engines and gears, you probably want to know what the Drive-E engine is. The reason Volvo decided on this massive undertaking was because they wanted engines that came in either gasoline or diesel with the ability to super charge or turbocharge. Not only were they after power, but they wanted to lose weight and gain fuel efficiency without losing the high performance.

That time has come and we're excited to see the new Drive-E engine series is available for the 2015 Volvo S60, 2015 Volvo XC60, and the new 2015 Volvo V60 in the front-wheel drive option.

Depending on the model drivers can expected 240 horsepower with 258 lb-ft of torque or 302 horsepower with 295 lb-ft of torque.

To give the driver more say in energy usage and conservation, they can select three modes (ECO+, Drive, and Sport), and we like that level of choice.

Even though this lineup is new there is a lot planned for it, including hybrid options that will undoubtedly push our expectation of performance while saving even more fuel.
