With Volvo, you know you are getting a vehicle that is at the forefront of technology, and safety. That's why it's no surprise to anyone that the automaker is leading the way with self-driving vehicles, and have fully developed technology that will allow us to do it, and are less than two years away from fully testing it out on the open road.

Come 2017, Volvo will test its autonomous driving in Sweden, but now, we have an idea of how the system works, as explained in a new video. When you are about to set off on your trip, set the destination in the navigation. The Volvo will be able to determine which routes can be driven autonomously, and when you get there, the steering wheel will flash and notify you, and you can begin the process of letting the car take over.

Once that happens you can relax, as the vehicle uses a 360-degree all around view to monitor surroundings, and gives you a countdown of when you will need to take the wheel again.

It's really something, and we look forward to it here at Volvo Marin. To learn more, stop in and see us in our Corte Madera, CA showroom, and we'd be happy to answer any questions you might have and arrange test drives in our new Volvo lineup.
